At Monday’s Board Meeting the Directors approved the latest management accounts and loan book reports. We also received the regular quarterly update from our Compliance and Risk Manager and reviewed the latest progress on  our Business Plan.

You may have seen some of the recent press coverage of Work and Save Scotland, this is an initiative to promote the benefits of workplace savings, across the Central Belt and Scotwest is partnering with Capital Credit Union in Edinburgh and Action for Financial Inclusion in order to deliver this. We were pleased to welcome Graham Brough, who has been leading this project, and were delighted to hear about the success stories so far. Keep an eye out for more on this in the coming months as we engage with more employers to raise awareness of this important service. If you are interested in your employer offering savings and loans from Scotwest through your payroll then please get in touch with us at marketing@scotwest.co.uk.

This was the last Board Meeting for both myself and Paul McGowan as we have reached the end of our tenures as Directors. Paul spoke of how his time as a Director has been a very rewarding experience and I would very much echo those sentiments. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to serve Scotwest over the past eight years. It’s sad to go but I know I am leaving the credit union in safe hands.
