  • Your information, including the amount of dividend received annually, may be reported to HM Revenue and Customs and may be transferred to the government of the territory you are resident in for Tax purposes in accordance with International Tax Compliance Regulations 2015.   • At Scotwest we offer a range of savings accounts. Please use this section to provide us with details of the account(s) you are looking to open and your preferred options in terms of initial deposits and regular deductions. Please note that anyone joining the credit union must open a Scotwest Saver Account.
  • Young Scot Carers

    In order for us to process your application and for your Young Scot Carers benefit of £50 to be added to your Scotwest Saver Account, we require you to provide your unique code supplied to you by Young Scot and upload two forms of identification in order for us to verify your identity and your address under money laundering regulations. Please select one form of ID from Table A and one from Table B from this list and upload a good quality photograph, photocopy or scan. If we are unable to use the uploads provided we will contact you to provide suitable versions as soon as possible.

    You will be asked below to either make an initial deposit or set up regular savings in order to proceed with the application. You are not required to make any deposit as £50 is added to your account as part of this offer, however please select 'Yes' to Initial Deposit then choose Cheque to allow you to proceed. If wish to set up regular savings into your new account select 'Yes' at that point and follow the instructions, otherwise select 'No'

    • Every Member of Scotwest must hold at least £1 in their Scotwest Saver Account. You can arrange an Initial Deposit and/or set up a Regular Deposit here.

    • Initial Deposit

      Initial deposits can be made by cheque or debit card deposit.

      Cheques should be made payable to '(Your name), c/o Scotwest Credit Union'.

      For debit card deposits we will contact you to take your card details over the phone.

      Please note - if you are opening one of our Notice Accounts, a minimum initial deposit of £50 will be required.

    • Regular Deposits

      One of the advantages of saving with Scotwest is the ability to save on a regular basis. You will also be able to earn Young Scot Extra Reward Points every month that you save into your Young Scot Extra Savings Account.

      If you work for one of our select employers, payroll deduction facilities allow you to save directly from your wages or salary each pay day. Direct debit facilities are also available for anyone joining from outwith our select employers.

      Please note: as a credit union we encourage our members to save even a small amount on a regular basis. This establishes a savings history with us which may be of benefit should you be considering applying for a loan at any time.

      When opening a Christmas Savings Account, £1 from your first regular deposit will be transferred to your Scotwest Saver Account to activate your membership unless you make an initial deposit. All further deposits will got to your Christmas Account in full.

      If you prefer not to set up regular deposits, you will need to make an initial deposit of at least £1 into your Scotwest Saver account in order to comply with our rules. We will contact you to organise this.

    • For new members who work for one of our current select employers. Simply complete the details below and we will organise your chosen deduction with your pay office.

      Please note: Depending on your employer, on receipt of your application we may have to forward you a paper authority for signing.

    • You will be able to set up your Direct Debit Instruction at the end of this online application.

      For paying by Direct Debit, please confirm the following at this stage:

      Please allow at least 14 days for your payments to be set up
    • This value is calculated as the total of the values entered above.
    • Christmas Savings Account

      Please provide details of your nominated bank account for your Christmas Savings account below. Savings will be paid out to this account each November.

    • The Scotwest Lottery

      All Scotwest Members aged 18 and over are eligible to join the Scotwest Lottery which gives away prizes totaling more than £8,000 every month. Entries cost just £1 each and up to 15 entries can be made each month. The money will be deducted directly from your Scotwest Saver Account. If you wish to join the lottery, please ensure you have enough funds in your Scotwest Saver Account to cover the price of your entries
