We are pleased to announce that the latest organisation to receive a Scotwest Community Award is Hamilton/Lanark Girl’s Brigade. The award will fund outdoor first aid training for leaders.
Jill Miller, the Scotwest Member who nominated the group said “The group provides and fun and safe environment for girls to learn good values, play games, craft work and participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.”
Kirsty Laird of the Girls’ Brigade said “Thank you so much to the Members of Scotwest for this award. It will allow us to undergo the training needed for our leaders to provide first aid cover in Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions. As a voluntary organisation this will make such a difference to the costs of taking part in these events.”
