We are pleased to announce that Nelly Boxes based in Barrhead, is one of the latest recipients of a Scotwest Community Award.

Nominated by Scotwest Member Nicola McGowan who helps run the organisation, Nelly Boxes is dedicated to providing support to families navigating life’s most challenging experiences. They offer free essential items for babies, offer guidance groups around miscarriage and baby loss and other practical and emotional support. The award will fund Family Memory Boxes which aim to help parents memorialise their baby through art therapy and Sibling Grief Support Kits to help children understand and process their emotions.

Nicola sad “I would like to thank the members of Scotwest. This award will be used to create grief therapy kits specifically designed for individuals affected by baby loss, including miscarriage and stillbirth. These kits are intended to offer comfort, connection, and emotional support to parents during a deeply personal time. Each one will contain thoughtfully curated items to promote reflection, healing, and remembrance — helping recipients feel seen, held, and supported in their grief.”
