After being nominated by Scotwest Credit Union member Alastair Bateman, Scotwest Credit Union has awarded Dumbarton Riverside Champions a £400 25th Anniversary Community Award.
The team has been running for 4 years providing adults with disabilities the opportunity to become more active, meet new friends and travel to play in tournaments against teams from across Scotland.
On being presented with the award, team coach Robert Paterson said “This is fantastic news for the team. We rely on volunteer coaches who give up their time to give as many players with disabilities the chance to participate in training and matches. These funds will help with travelling to our regular weekend matches in Glasgow and Edinburgh.”
Scotwest CEO Kenny MacLeod said “I would like to thank our member Alastair for taking the time to nominate Dumbarton Riverside Champions for a Scotwest Community Award. Everyone at Scotwest looks forward to seeing how well the team get on this season.”
