We are pleased to announce the latest recipient of a Scotwest Community Award is the Health and Social Care Volunteers, a group of council employees and their family and friends who volunteer their time supplying Christmas dinners to needy families in the North Ayrshire area.
They were nominated by Scotwest Member and volunteer Liz Allan. Liz said, “Seven years ago a couple who had been previously assisted by the council donated a full Christmas dinner to help a needy family. The dilemma of who to donate the dinner to was the beginning of their Christmas Day Dinner Packs project that aims to ensure that no child or family are left hungry on Christmas Day.
“Now we are supporting around 110 families in the area who without our help would have a very different Christmas and this donation will help us assist even more families with a Christmas dinners, toys, clothes and toiletries. I would like to thank Scotwest and their members for helping to improve Christmas for many families in North Ayrshire.”
