Stephen Wood, Chair

Joined Scotwest March 2014. Elected to the Board, November 2022

While working for North Lanarkshire Stephen has volunteered with The Children’s Panel, Independent Custody Visiting as well as the Commonwealth Games. Stephen first served as a Scotwest Director after being nominated to the Board November 2014, service as Vice Chair until leaving the board in 2020. Find out more

Ian Turner, Vice Chair

Joined Scotwest 1991, elected to the Board February 2017

Having been a Social Worker since 1981working across Scotland, Ian has extensive experience in both local authority and the voluntary sector, both at front line and management levels. Find out more.

Anthony Burns

Joined Scotwest 2023, co-opted to the Board October 2025

Chief Operating Officer at ACS Clothing, Europe’s leading circular fashion company, Anthony has spent twenty years demonstrating that business can be a force for good focusing on social justice, environmental impact and ethical growth. Find out more.

Justine Carter

Joined Scotwest 2021, elected to the Board November 2022

Juistine has enjoyed a long career in IT and project management in both the aviation and financial sectors, including a spell working and living in New Zealand.  In recent years she has also taken up a range of voluntary opportunities with organisations including Citizens Advice, as well as taken part in Natwest’s MoneySense programme delivering financial education in schools. Maurice Gilligan

Joined Scotwest 2011, Co-opted to the Board April 2023. Elected to the Board December 2023

Maurice is Renfrewshire Council’s Promise Manager. As well as a member of Renfrewshire Council’s Children’s Services Senior Leadership Team and a key officer in Renfrewshire’s Children Services Partnership. Find out more.

Thomas Lynch

Joined Scotwest 2006, co-opted to the Board August 2025

Thomas worked as the Income and Credit Manager for Castle Water Ltd which involved the monitoring of customer income and customer debt, something that he has continued to be involved in as a self employed accountant since his retirement in 2022. Find out more.

Lorna McAndie

Joined Scotwest September 2025. Co-opted to the Board, October 2025

Lorna is an experienced business leader with over 20 years senior across financial and professional services, utilities and the public sector with a passion for staff and colleague development.

Steven Young

Joined Scotwest September 2024. Elected to the Board, December 2024

Having worked in a managerial capacity at Clydesdale Bank for over 30 years, Steven took up the role of a Director at Perth and Kinross Credit Union in 2012. Following the merger between Scotwest and Perth and Kinross Credit Unions, Steven was keen to continue supporting the credit union movement  by taking up a position at Scotwest. Find out more
